In July 2023, I took part in solidarity visit to Ukraine organised by Ukrainian Leadership Academy. We spend one week visiting Kyiv, Lutsk, and Lviv, and exploring local humanitarian aid organizations.
Our journey began by visiting Irpin, Hostomel, and Horenka. Located approximately 15 kilometers northeast of Kyiv, these places became the sites of Russia’s highest brutality at the beginning of the war. In the village of Horenka, we helped with Brave to Rebuild Foundation to clean up the debris of a family house destroyed by a Russian missile.
A visit to Kyiv followed, where the omnipresent war occasionally fades in the everyday life…
Our last two stops were Lutsk & Lviv. The night after our arrival in Lviv, there was a Russian missile attack on an apartment complex. 10 people were killed and over 40 injured. All photos from Lviv were taken just a few hours after this attack.
